Happy Gay History Month from Homo History!

Happy Gay History Month!

I started Homo History as personal project in August of 2011, as way to share my love of these fascinating vintage photos. I never imaged how much others would love them too and how popular the website would become. Last month Homo History had almost 130,000 page views, setting a record for the site! When fans post links to Homo History stories on sites like Redit, the number of people visiting goes through the roof, so keep up the good work! It looks like the total number of all time page views will hit One Million this month, a number that I can't even wrap my head around!

In the coming months I will begin using some of the original photos from my personal collection for a line of Homo History T-shirts, calendars, mugs etc. I hope you'll like them!

These photos represent just a small fragment of our gay history; unfortunately so much of it has purposely been destroyed. Since most of the men and women in these photos are unknown, it's pretty much impossible to tell it they were a gay couple or just "good friends." Most photographs of gay couples were eventually destroyed by horrified family members. For every photo that I may have mistakenly identified as gay, thousands more were burned or torn into pieces to keep a family secret.

Thanks,
Jeffrey Gent
